Join your friends from the Australian Tolkien Fellowship at our next online meeting.
We will have a time to catch up with each other and share our latest fan related adventures, as well as learning about upcoming events locally and abroad.
Then we will have a fascinating presentation on "Trees of Tongues" or "So what is so good about philology anyway?"
This talk will explore some of the ways that Tolkien imported his professional expertise and love of Philology into the Legendarium. In short, how his understanding of languages in the primary world informed his secondary world creation. The talk will include some explanation of how primary world historical linguists/philologists do language reconstruction.

Come along if you want to understand better Tolkien's creation of Elvish languages, or if you want to show off your fluent Sindarin or Quenya!
Zoom details below.
Everyone is welcome, especially if it will be your first time joining us. We invite Tolkien fans from all over Australia, New Zealand, and even further abroad!
