Hern Ennorath catch-up - 27 August 2026

Come along to our on-line get together for August. Meet with fellow Middle-earth travellers from all over Australia, New Zealand and further abroad. Share your latest adventures, your most recent addition to your library, your hopes for upcoming shows/movies, or upcoming conference plans.

This month we have a new way to sign up for this meeting, via the Signum University fellowship page (Signum makes our annual Ozmoots and Kiwimoots possible).

This month's presentation will be a report on the The Silmarilli, An annual gaming event run by one of our members every June for the Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game. More that just a simple tournament or gathering to play the game, The Silmarilli aims to be a narrative event each year with its own theme and story that plays out across the weekend. This year's theme was Rise of Beleriand and told the story of Beleriand rising from the waves. We will be given an overview of how the event works and a report back on how the story unfolded this year.

We will also have a report on a recent trip to the Hobbiton Film Set at Matamata, with photos and some "Easter Eggs" or nods to Tolkien's story.
