Join us on Thursday 21 August for our next online adventure in the world of J R R Tolkien.
We will spend time sharing news from the last month, news on what is coming up including our September trivia quiz, and welcoming any newcomers to our meeting.
Then we will have a presentation on Plot Twists in Tolkien’s works.
“You maniacs! You blew it up!", Bruce Willis was dead all along, etc etc. Cinema is filled with examples of twists and last-minute revelations that change the entire film up to that point. But what makes a twist work in-world? Why didn't Tolkien use them? Or did he?”
